To confirm the appointment of Ms. Sarah Navarro to the District of Columbia State Athletics
Commission.
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
resolution may be cited as the District of Columbia State Athletics Commission Sarah Navarro
Confirmation Resolution of 2022.
Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the appointment of:

Sarah Navarro
Sarah Navarro is the Senior Deputy Chief of Secondary Schools
for the District of Columbia Public Schools (DCPS),
In her current role, Ms. Navarro leads district-wide efforts to
implement equitable policies and ensure high-quality
opportunities for all secondary students. She also oversees a
range of programs including school counseling, academic
scheduling support, ninth grade academies, student engagement,
athletics, graduation, and career and college preparation and
persistence initiatives. In addition, Ms. Navarro led the redesign
of DCPS? altemative schools in Opportunity Academies and
served as founding director of the Pathways program. Prior to
joining DCPS, Ms. Navarro was the principal of the Maya
Angelou Adult Learning Center and founding board chair of the
Sojourner Truth Montessori Public Charter School
A Ward 5 resident, Ms. Navarro received a BachelorofArts in Sociology and Psychology from
the University of Vermont and a Masterof Public Policy from the University of Michigan.
