To confirm the appointment of Salah Czapary as the Director of the Office of Nightlife and
Culture.
RESOLVED, BY COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this resolution
may be cited as the Director of the Office of Nightlife and Culture Salah Czapary Confirmation
Resolution of 2022.
Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia confirms the appointment of:

Salah Czapary
Salah Czapary is the former D.C. Metropolitan
Police Departments (MPD) Special Assistant to the
Chief ofPolice.
Mr. Czapary has over ten years of experience
leading community outreach initiatives. During his
tenure with MPD, Mr. Czapary led numerous
programs in partnership with local organizations to
encourage greater community engagement with
policing. He also oversaw community policing
working groups to gamer residential feedback,
develop community trust, and improve volunteer
service programs. Prior to joining MPD, Mr. Czapary founded and managed the operationsofthe
Nagypapa Foundation to encourage experiential travel and education.
In addition, Mr. Czapary was recognized by the Intemational Association of Chiefs of Police for
his leadership in volunteer police service programs and eamed the 2019 Homeland Security Today
Mission Award.
A WardI resident, Mr. Czapary received a BachelorofArts in Arabic Language and Culture from
California University of Pennsylvania and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in Homeland
Security from the Naval Postgraduate School.
