In accordance with section 2 of the Confirmation Act of 1978, effective March 3, 1979 (D.C.
Law 2-142; D.C. Official Code 1-523.01), and pursuant to sections 1072 and 1073 of the
Commission on Fathers, Men, and Boys Establishment Act of 2014, effective February 26,
2015 (D.C. Law 20-155; D.C. Official Code 3-731 and 3-732), I am pleased to
nominate the following person:

Dr. Amber Hewitt, for a term to end September 19, 2024.

To confirm the appointment of Kiye Corbitt to the Commission on Fathers, Men, and Boys.
RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
resolution may be cited as the Commission on Fathers, Men, and Boys Kiye Corbitt
Confirmation Resolution of 2021.
Sec. 2. The Councilofthe District of Columbia confirms the appointment of:

as a member of the Commission on Fathers, Men, and Boys, pursuant to sections 1072 and 1073
ofthe Commission on Fathers, Men, and Boys Establishment Act of 2014, effective February 26,
32 2015 (D.C. Law 20-155; D.C. Official Code 3-731 and 3-732), replacing Dr. Amber Hewitt,
33 for a term to end September 19, 2024.
34 Sec. 3. The Council of the District of Columbia shall transmit a copy of this resolution,
35 upon its adoption, to the nominee and to the Office of the Mayor.
36 Sec. 4. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

Kiye Corbitt
Kiye Corbitt is a 7th grade, founding scholar at Statesmen College
Preparatory Academy for Boys. He is deeply grounded in D.C.
where he resides, worships, serves, plays, and learns. In addition
to being a proud Statesmen Scholar, Mr. Corbitt is a member of
Boy Scout Troop 98 and the Nations Capital ChapterofJack and
Jill of America. As a member of Metropolitan AME Church, he is
in the choir and on the junior Usher Board. This year, Mr. Corbitt
was also the first-place winner for his grade group in the National
Park Services Frederick Douglas Oratorical Contest and the
second-place video winner. Mr. Corbitt also wrestles, is on the
debate team, and served as the presidentofhis Toastmasters Gavel
Club. He uses allofthese acti ies to serve his fellow citizens and advocate for their rights.
A Ward 5 resident, Mr. Corbitt is excited about the opportunity to serve on the Commission on
Fathers, Men, and Boys and to possibly bring a fresh perspective to the Commission.
