18 To officially designate the public alley system within Square 4546, bounded by 17th Street,
19 N.E., E Street, N.E., 18th Street, N.E., and D Street, N.E. in Ward 6, as Mamie
20 Peanut Johnson Court.

22 BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That
23 this act may be cited as the Mamie Peanut Johnson Court Designation Act of 2021.
24 Sec. 2. Pursuant to sections 401, 403, and 421 of the Street and Alley Closing and
25 Acquisition Procedures Act of 1982, effective March 10, 1983 (D.C. Law 4-201; D.C. Official
26 Code 9-204.01, 9-204.03, and 9-204.21), the Council officially designates the entire
27 portion of the public alley system within Square 4546, which is bounded by 17th Street,
28 N.E., E Street, N.E., 18th Street, N.E., and D Street, N.E., in Ward 6, as Mamie Peanut
29 Johnson Court.
30 Sec. 3. Transmittal.
31 The Council shall transmit a copy of this act, upon its effective date, to the Mayor,
32 the District Department of Transportation, and the Office of the Surveyor.
33 Sec. 4. Fiscal impact statement.

34 The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement in the committee report as the fiscal
35 impact statement required by section 4a of the General Legislative Procedures Act of 1975,
36 approved October 16, 2006 (120 Stat. 2038; D.C. Official Code 1-301.47a).
37 Sec. 5. Effective date.
38 This act shall take effect following approval by the Mayor (or in the event of veto by
39 the Mayor, action by the Council to override the veto), a 30-day period of congressional
40 review as provided in section 602(c)(1) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, approved
41 December 24, 1973 (87 Stat. 813; D.C. Official Code 1-206.02(c)(1)), and publication in the
42 District of Columbia Register.
