17   To order the closing of a portion of a public alley system in Square 5612, bounded by Good

18          Hope Road, 17th Street, T Street, and 18th Street in the southeast quadrant of

19          Washington, DC, in Ward 8.

21           Be IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this

22   act be cited as the Closing of a Public Alley in Square 5612, S.O. 21-06924, Act of 2021.

23           Sec. 2. Pursuant to Section 201 of the Street and Alley Closing and Acquisition

24   Procedures Act of 1982, effective March 10, 1983, (D.C. Law 4-201; D.C. Official Code 9-

25   202.01), the Council of the District of Columbia finds the portion of the public alley system in

26   Square 5612, as shown on the Surveyors plat in S.O. 21-06924, unnecessary for alley purposes

27   and orders it closed with title to the land to vest as shown on the Surveyors plat.

28           Sec. 3. The closing of this public alley in section 2 of this act is contingent upon the

29   satisfaction of all the conditions set forth in the official file for S.O. 21-06924.

30           Sec. 4. The Secretary of the Council shall transmit a copy of this act, upon its effective

31   date, to the Office of the Surveyor of the District of Columbia.

32           Sec. 5. The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement in the committee report as the

33   fiscal impact statement required by section 602(c)(3) of the District of Columbia Home Rule

34   Act, approved December 24, 1973 (87 Stat. 813, D.C. Official Code 1-206-02(c)(3)).

35           Sec. 6. This act shall take effect upon its approval by the Mayor (or in the event of veto

36   by the Mayor, action by the Council to override the veto), and a 30-day period of Congressional

37   review as provided in section 602(c)(1) of the District of Columbia Home Rule Act, approved

38   December 24, 1973 (87 Stat. 813; D.C. Official Code 1-206.02(c)(1) and publication in the

39   District of Columbia Register.
