                   IN THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

                                          June 15, 2021

To recognize Life Pieces To Masterpieces for 25 years of service.

        WHEREAS, Life Pieces To Masterpieces is part of a nonprofit sector affects nearly every

citizen in one way or another, from museums and concerts, school-sponsored day trips, the little

leagues and other groups that enrich our youth, to social services agencies that provide food,

clothing, housing and training for those less fortunate;

         WHEREAS, Life Pieces To Masterpieces was formed to address societal needs using

artistic expression to develop character and leadership, unlock potential, and prepare our citizens

to transform their lives and communities;

        WHEREAS, Life Pieces To Masterpieces has evolved from an after school arts

engagement activity to a comprehensive nonprofit organization recognized as a leading model

for the development of boys and young men living in marginalized communities;

       WHEREAS, Life Pieces To Masterpieces high school seniors have all graduated and

enrolled in secondary education or training for the past 10 years;

        WHEREAS, Life Pieces To Masterpieces work of has significantly contributed to the

goals, plans and quality of life of District residents;

       WHEREAS, Life Pieces To Masterpieces has had a tremendous impact on the lives of

children and youth, philanthropy, volunteerism, and community service in the District of

Columbia; and

       WHEREAS, Life Pieces To Masterpieces has for 25 years been a Catalyst for Positive

Change, enhancing the quality of life for the People of Wards 7 and 8, the District of Columbia,

the United States, and over 35 countries.

        RESOLVED, BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this

resolution may be cited as the Life Pieces To Masterpieces Recognition Resolution of 2021.

      Sec. 2. The Council of the District of Columbia congratulates Life Pieces To

Masterpieces for 25 years of service and designates June 26, 2021, to be Life Pieces To

Masterpieces Day in the District of Columbia in celebration of this milestone achievement by

Life Pieces To Masterpieces as they continue to improve and enhance the lives of all by

promoting the common good.

       Sec. 3. This resolution shall take effect immediately.
