To order the dedication of Lot 252 in Square 620 for the wideningofthe First Street, NW, right of
way; and to authorize the improvementofthe dedicated land for street purposes in Ward
6.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, That this
act be cited as the Dedication of Lot 252 in Square 620 for the First Street, NW, Right-of-Way,
S.0. 19-48848 Act of 202
Sec. 2. (a) Pursuant to sections 302 and 401ofthe Act (D.C. Official Code 9-203.02
and 9-204.01), and notwithstanding the requirements set forth in sections 303, 304, and 402of the
Act (D.C. Official Code 9-203.03, 9-203.04,and 9-204,02), the Council accepts the dedication
ofLot 252 in Square 620 for the wideningofthe First Street, NW right ofway from 60 to 90 feet,
as shown by the hatch marks on the Surveyors plat in $.O. 19-4848.
(b) The approval of the Councilofthis dedication is conditioned upon the construction of
the street improvements to the standards and specifications of the District Department of
Transportation, the submittal by the ownerof a signed a document, which shall be attached to the
33 DDOT Statement, that indemnifies and holds harmless the District and all of its officers, agents,
34 and servants against any and all claims or liability arising from or based on, or as a consequence
35 or result of, any latent defects, act, omission, or default ofthe ownerof the property, his employees,
36 agents, servants, contractors, or subcontractors, in the performance of, or in connection with, any
37 work required, contemplated, or performed in connection with the construction of the street and
38 the satisfaction of all the conditions set forth in the official file for $.O. 19-48848.
39 (c) Notwithstanding section 306 of the Act (D.C. Official Code 9-203.06), the Mayor is
40 authorized to record the plat only after the satisfaction of the conditions Council contained in this
41 legislation and satisfactionofall the conditions set forth in the official file for S.O. 19-48848.
42 Sec. 3. Transmittal
43 The Council shall transmit a copy of this act, upon its effective date, to the Office of the
Surveyor and the Officeofthe Recorder of Deeds.
45 Sec. 4. Fiscal Impact Statement
46 The Council adopts the fiscal impact statement in the committee report as the fiscal impact
47 statement required by section 4a of the General Legislative Procedures Act of 1975, approved
48 October 16, 2006 (120 Stat. 2038; D.C. Official Code 1-301.47a).
49 Sec. 5. Effective Date
50 This act shall take effect following approval by the Mayor (or in the event of veto by the
51 Mayor, action by the Council to override the veto), a 30-day period of congressional review as
52 provided in section 602(c)(1)ofthe District ofColumbia Home Rule Act, approved December 24,
53 1973 (87 Stat. 813, D.C. Official Code 1-206.02(c)(1)), and publication in the District of
54 Columbia Register.
