REASONS FOR BILL:
The proposed bill will modify the preconditions to issuing a real estate broker's license in this
state. This will ensure that all licensed Connecticut real estate brokers are experienced in real
estate transactions.
SUBSTITUTE LANGUAGE:
Language was added to include definitions of key terms. Language was added to provide
requirements for team names. Language was added to specify the supervisory relationship
and registration process, as well as establish fees to cover the cost to DCP.

NATURE AND SOURCES OF SUPPORT:
Connecticut Realtors: CTR testified that HB 6624 will modify the preconditions for issuing a
real estate broker license in Connecticut. This will protect consumers by ensuring that all
licensed real estate brokers are experienced in real estate transactions. CTR requested a
language change to provide a definition of a team and requirements for team names to
ensure transparency with the public. This language change is reflected in the proposed
substitute
