REASONS FOR BILL:
To study the types of current alcoholic liquor permits.
JFS LANGUAGE:
Makes numerous minor and technical changes to the liquor control act and goes into effect
on July 1, 2021.
RESPONSE FROM ADMINISTRATION/AGENCY:
Michelle Seagull, Commissioner, Department of Consumer Protection submitted
testimony. This bill would charge the Liquor Control commission with conduction studies.
NATURE AND SOURCES OF SUPPORT:
Brian P. Moran, Director, New England Convenience Store & Energy Marketers
Association submitted testimony. There needs to be a deadline and goals and guiding
principles for the Commissioner. We suggest priority consideration be given to consumer
choice and convenience.
