REASONS FOR BILL:
This resolution recognizes the Connecticut-Taiwan relationship, which began in 1999. In
addition, this resolution identifies the various economic, cultural and educational ties shared
by Connecticut and Taiwan. In an effort to reiterate the Connecticut General Assemblys
support for closer and stronger economic and trade relations between the United State and
Taiwan, the resolution seeks to commemorate the twenty-second anniversary of the special
relationship between Connecticut and Taiwan.
