REASONS FOR BILL:
This bill adds protections for students who take out loans to further their education.

NATURE AND SOURCES OF SUPPORT:
Maureen Chalmers, President of the Congress of Connecticut Community Colleges (4Cs)
submitted testimony in support. The 4Cs supported the original Federal Student Loan
Borrowers Bill of Rights Act of 2019, and we support S.B. No. 716, AN ACT CONCERNING
THE FEDERAL STUDENT LOAN BORROWERS' BILL OF RIGHTS ACT OF 2019, which will
expand and strengthen the rights for our students.
