AN ACT CONCERNING THE PROVISION OF NECESSARY MEDICAL
TREATMENT FOR DRUG-DEPENDENT PERSONS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
1 That: (1) Section 54-36i of the general statutes be amended to provide
2 that moneys remaining in the drug assets forfeiture revolving account
3 at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the General Fund but shall
4 remain in the revolving account and be allocated to the Department of
5 Mental Health and Addiction Services for the provision of inpatient
6 treatment services for drug-dependent persons at facilities operated by
7 or under contract with the department; and (2) the general statutes be
8 amended to provide that the Probate Court Administrator shall, within
9 available appropriations, prepare and distribute informational
10 materials that are designed to inform the public of Probate Court
11 procedures that may be of assistance in securing necessary medical
12 treatment for a drug-dependent person.
Statement of Purpose:
To combat opioid abuse and addiction.
