AN ACT CONCERNING HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR
PRESCRIPTION DRUGS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
1 That sections 38a-492f and 38a-518f of the general statutes be
2 amended to provide that no health carrier that delivers, issues for
3 delivery, renews, amends or continues an individual or group health
4 insurance policy in this state that includes prescription drug coverage
5 shall remove a covered prescription drug from its list of covered drugs,
6 or reclassify or place a covered prescription drug in a higher cost-
7 sharing tier, during a policy term.
Statement of Purpose:
To provide that a health carrier shall not remove a covered prescription
drug from its list of covered drugs, or reclassify or place a covered
prescription drug in a higher cost-sharing tier, during the term of a
health insurance policy.
