AN ACT ELIMINATING A COURT'S AUTHORITY TO DEPART FROM
THE MANDATORY MINIMUM SENTENCE FOR THE ILLEGAL
MANUFACTURE, DISTRIBUTION, SALE, PRESCRIPTION OR
ADMINISTRATION OF OPIOIDS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
1 That section 21a-283a of the general statutes, which permits a court,
2 upon a showing of good cause by the defendant, to depart from the
3 prescribed mandatory minimum sentence relating to the illegal
4 manufacture, distribution, sale, prescription or administration of
5 opioids be repealed.
Statement of Purpose:
To repeal section 21a-283a of the general statutes, which permits a court,
upon a showing of good cause by the defendant, to depart from the
prescribed mandatory minimum sentence relating to the illegal
manufacture, distribution, sale, prescription or administration of
opioids.
