AN ACT ELIMINATING THE REQUIREMENT FOR A CERTIFICATE OF
NEED FOR CARDIAC HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS TO INVEST IN
NEW FACILITIES OR EQUIPMENT.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
1 That section 19a-638 of the general statutes be amended to eliminate
2 the requirement for a cardiac health care provider to acquire a certificate
3 of need to invest in any new facility or equipment.
Statement of Purpose:
To allow timely access to cardiac health care services that can mean life
or death for patients in cardiac distress.
