AN ACT CONCERNING THE SETTLEMENT AND DISPOSITION OF
HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE CLAIMS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
1 That title 38a of the general statutes be amended to require each
2 insurer that delivers or issues a homeowners insurance policy in this
3 state to settle or otherwise dispose of a claim under the policy not later
4 than forty-five days after the claim is made.
Statement of Purpose:
To require each insurer that delivers or issues a homeowners insurance
policy in this state to settle or otherwise dispose of a claim under the
policy not later than forty-five days after the claim is made.
