AN ACT LOWERING THE AGE OF ELIGIBILITY FOR PROPERTY TAX
RELIEF FOR SENIOR CITIZENS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
1 That title 12 of the general statutes be amended to increase the
2 number of elderly residents eligible for property tax relief and permit
3 municipalities to exempt from taxation one motor vehicle belonging to
4 a person seventy-one years of age or older who has resided in the
5 municipality for not less than forty years.
Statement of Purpose:
To increase the number of elderly residents eligible for property tax
relief and permit municipalities to exempt from taxation one motor
vehicle belonging to a person seventy-one years of age or older who has
resided in the municipality for not less than forty years.
