AN ACT CONCERNING THE ANNUAL REPORT OF BENEFITS TO
VETERANS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
1 Section 1. Section 27-102p of the general statutes is repealed and the
2 following is substituted in lieu thereof (Effective from passage):
3 (a) Not later than July [15, 2007, and] fifteenth annually, [thereafter,]
4 each state agency or municipality that provides benefits to veterans, as
5 defined in section 27-103, shall submit a report to the Commissioner of
6 [Veterans'] Veterans Affairs, in the manner and form prescribed by the
7 commissioner, that includes a description of each type of benefit
8 provided to veterans, the value of such benefit and the number of
9 veterans to whom such benefit was provided, for the twelve-month
10 period ending on June thirtieth of the same year. [The commissioner
11 shall compile the data in such report.]
12 (b) Not later than August [1, 2007, and] thirtieth annually,
13 [thereafter,] the Commissioner of [Veterans'] Veterans Affairs shall
14 submit a report of the data compiled pursuant to subsection (a) of this
15 section, for the twelve-month period ending on June thirtieth of the

16 same year, to the Military Department and the joint standing committee
17 of the General Assembly having cognizance of matters relating to
18 [public safety] military and veterans' affairs, in accordance with the
19 provisions of section 11-4a. Such report shall specify the total number of
20 veterans receiving benefits and the value of such benefits by category of
21 benefit and in total for such period.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:

Statement of Purpose:
To extend the deadline for the Commissioner of Veterans Affairs to
compile data and submit the report of benefits to veterans to the Military
Department and the joint standing committee of the General Assembly
having cognizance of matters relating to military and veterans' affairs.
