AN ACT CONCERNING THE USE OF CIRCLE FISH HOOKS.
Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Representatives in General
Assembly convened:
1 Section 1. (NEW) (Effective from passage) The Commissioner of Energy
2 and Environmental Protection, in accordance with chapter 54 of the
3 general statutes, shall adopt regulations to require sport fishermen to
4 use nonoffset circle hooks when live-lining, chumming, using fish, crabs
5 or worms and when using processed baits while not live-lining for the
6 taking of striped bass and blue fish.
This act shall take effect as follows and shall amend the following
sections:
Section 1 from passage New section
Statement of Purpose:
To require fishermen to use nonoffset circle hooks under certain
methods when fishing for striped bass and blue fish.
