Resolved by the Assembly of the State of California, That Rule 118.1 of the Standing Rules of the Assembly for the 2023 24 Regular Session is amended to read:
Floor Attire
118.1. (a) Notwithstanding any other provision of these Rules, Members of the Legislature, officers or employees of the Legislature, accredited members of the press, or any other persons may be restricted from admission to the Floor of the Assembly during any session if they are inappropriately attired. The
(b) For the purposes of this rule, appropriate attire includes an individual s cultural, ethnic, or nationally accepted professional attire or garb.
(c) The Committee on Rules may, as necessary, adopt policies to implement this rule.
