SB1250 is a bill that amends the Arizona Revised Statutes relating to the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) administration. The bill prohibits health care insurers from denying claims submitted by the state for payment based on a lack of prior authorization if AHCCCS has authorized the item or service. It also requires health care insurers to respond to any inquiries from the Director of AHCCCS regarding a submitted claim within 60 days.

The bill also removes the requirement for AHCCCS health care insurer compliance reports to be submitted to the Director of the Arizona State Library, Archives, and Public Records. Additionally, it makes technical and conforming changes and becomes effective on the general effective date. The bill does not expand the scope of coverage, benefits, or rights under the policy issued by the health care insurer.
