The proposed bill amends section 5-1304 of the Arizona Revised Statutes, which pertains to event wagering. The bill introduces new provisions regarding the allocation of event wagering operating licenses.

Under the new bill, any unallocated event wager operating licenses that have not been issued by September 30, 2022, must be immediately made available and issued to a federally recognized Indian tribe in the state, or its designee, or an entity fully owned by an Indian tribe, provided that the tribe has signed the most recent tribal-state gaming compact and any applicable appendices or amendments. Additionally, any allocated event wager operating license that is not renewed must also be made available and issued to a federally recognized Indian tribe or its designee under the same conditions.
