19 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Central High School Lady Tigers defeated the
20 Conway High School Lady Wampus Cats, claiming the Class 6A Girls' Basketball
21 State Championship title at the Bank OZK Arena in Hot Springs on March 8,
22 2024; and
23
24 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Central High School Lady Tigers beat the
25 Conway High School Lady Wampus Cats with a score of 58-40; and
26
27 WHEREAS, Alivia Montgomery led the team with an impressive nineteen
28 (19) points; and
29
30 WHEREAS, Jordan Marshall scored nine (9) points and had twelve (12)
31 rebounds and was named Most Valuable Player for the team; and
32
33 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Central High School Lady Tigers took control
34 of the game near the end of the third quarter when Taylor Day-Davis put in a
35 layup, which sparked a Lady Tigers run with five minutes forty seconds
36 (05:40) left in the game; and

2 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Central High School Lady Tigers were led by
3 Coach Marlon Williams; and

5 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Central High School Lady Tigers' remarkable
6 win marks the first state title in the Little Rock Central High School girls'
7 basketball history; and
8
9 WHEREAS, the Little Rock Central High School Lady Tigers' victory is a
10 testament to their hard work and dedication,

12 NOW THEREFORE,
13 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
14 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

16 THAT the House of Representatives recognize the Little Rock Central
17 High School Lady Tigers as the 2023-2024 Class 6A Basketball State Champions.

19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that upon adoption of this resolution, a copy shall be
20 provided to Coach Marlon Williams by the Chief Clerk of the House of
21 Representatives.
