22 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

24 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code Title 12, Chapter 13, Subchapter 1, is
25 amended to add an additional section to read as follows:
26 12-13-120. Arkansas Fire Prevention Code – Storm shelters – Essential
27 facilities.
28 (a) Before January 1, 2025, the Arkansas Fire Prevention Code shall
29 not require the following essential facilities to have a storm shelter:
30 (1) A 911 call station;
31 (2) An emergency operations center;
32 (3) A fire, rescue, or ambulance station; and
33 (4) A police department.
34 (b) After January 1, 2025, the Arkansas Fire Prevention Code may
35 establish storm shelter requirements for the essential facilities listed in
36 subsection (a) of this section.
