9 TRACK AND FIELD TEAM FOR WINNING THE 2023 CLASS 5A
10 STATE INDOOR TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIP.

20 WHEREAS, on February 18, 2023, the Russellville Cyclones Boys Indoor
21 Track and Field Team won the Class 5A State Indoor Track and Field
22 Championship at the Randal Tyson Track Center at the University of Arkansas
23 at Fayetteville; and
24
25 WHEREAS, the 2023 championship win by the Russellville Cyclones Boys
26 Indoor Track and Field Team was the school’s first indoor track and field
27 title in over twenty (20) years; and
28
29 WHEREAS, the Russellville Cyclones Boys Indoor Track and Field Team
30 scored in eleven (11) of fifteen (15) events and won by twenty-one (21)
31 points; and
32
33 WHEREAS, the Russellville Cyclones Boys Indoor Track and Field Team has
34 three (3) individual state champions: Kercher Herring in the pole vault;
35 Akeilius Patterson in the high jump; and Trenton Reynolds in the shot put;
36 and

2 WHEREAS, the Russellville Cyclones Boys Indoor Track and Field Team is
3 coached by head coach Ben Goodman and assistant coaches: John Frazier; Tommy
4 Parker; Jacob Wiedmaier, Nathan Lemley, and Brian Strausheim; and
5
6 WHEREAS, Mr. Goodman stated “Our kids handled the rigors of the day
7 really well and competed like true champions. Our coaches did a great job of
8 preparing these kids to compete at a high level with limited meet
9 opportunities leading up to the event as indoor meets are very limited in the
10 winter months. I couldn’t be more proud of these young men and this coaching
11 staff for what they’ve accomplished",

13 NOW THEREFORE,
14 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
15 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

17 THAT the House of Representatives commend the Russellville Cyclones
18 Boys Indoor Track and Field Team for its 2023 Class 5A Boys Indoor Track and
19 Field Championship.
20
21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption of this resolution, a copy shall be
22 transmitted to Head Coach Ben Goodman by the Chief Clerk of the House of
23 Representatives.
