22 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

24 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code Title 17, Chapter 87, Subchapter 2, is
25 amended to add an additional section to read as follows:
26 17-87-208. Collection of nursing workforce and nursing education data.
27 (a) The Arkansas State Board of Nursing may create a data repository
28 to collect, report, track, and trend data regarding nursing education and the
29 nursing workforce in Arkansas for more timely and accurate tracking of the
30 nursing education and nursing workforce throughout the state.
31 (b) The data collection described in subsection (a) of this section
32 shall include data relating to the root causes of nurse retention and nurse
33 turnover throughout the state.
34 (c)(1) The board shall create and establish an action plan for the
35 nursing workforce in Arkansas to improve nurse availability across the state.
36 (2) The action plan described in subdivision (c)(1) of this

1 section shall be updated annually and include stakeholder feedback.
2 (d) The board may contract with a non-state entity to fulfill the
3 requirements of this section.
4 (e) The board may apply for one-time funds under the American Rescue
5 Plan Act, if available and eligible, to fund the first two-years expense to
6 create the data repository, but may not exceed five hundred thousand dollars
7 ($500,000) in funds under the American Rescue Plan Act.
