8 TO RECOGNIZE THE HAZEN HIGH SCHOOL HORNETS FOOTBALL
9 TEAM AS THE 2022 2A FOOTBALL STATE CHAMPIONS.

15 FOOTBALL STATE CHAMPIONS.

17 WHEREAS, the 2022 Hazen High School Hornets football team won the 2A
18 Football State Championship after defeating the Carlisle High School Bison
19 forty-four (44) to six (6) at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock, Arkansas,
20 on Friday, December 2, 2022; and
21
22 WHEREAS, with this win, the Hazen High School Hornets claimed their
23 first state football championship after losing in the championship games in
24 2014 and 2016; and
25
26 WHEREAS, the Hazen High School Hornets completed the season undefeated
27 with a 13-0 record; and

29 WHEREAS, the Hazen High School Hornets were led by Head Coach Joe
30 Besancon; and

32 WHEREAS, Luke King, the quarterback for the Hazen High School Hornets,
33 passed for two hundred eight (208) yards and two (2) touchdowns; and
34
35 WHEREAS, running back Braylan Anderson carried the ball seven (7) times
36 for one hundred thirty-four (134) yards and scored three (3) touchdowns; and

2 WHEREAS, the Hazen High School football team boasted two (2) one
3 hundred (100) yard rushers with Kolton Tosh and Braylan Anderson,

5 NOW THEREFORE,
6 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL ASSEMBLY:

8 THAT the Senate of the Ninety-Fourth General Assembly recognize the
9 Hazen High School Football 2A State Champions.

11 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption of this resolution, a copy be
12 provided to Head Coach Joe Besancon and the Hazen High School Hornets
13 football team by the Secretary of the Senate.
