8 TO RECOGNIZE THE WOODLAWN HIGH SCHOOL BEARS BASEBALL
9 TEAM AS THE 2A STATE CHAMPIONS.

14 BEARS BASEBALL TEAM AS THE 2A STATE
15 CHAMPIONS.

17 WHEREAS, the 2022 Woodlawn High School Bears baseball team won the 2A
18 State Championship after defeating the Bigelow Panthers with a score of 7-2
19 at Everett Field on May 19, 2022; and
20
21 WHEREAS, the Woodlawn High School Bears baseball team has a winning
22 tradition in baseball and has won state championships in 2008, 2010, 2012,
23 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2021; and
24
25 WHEREAS, the Woodlawn High School Bears baseball team completed the
26 season with a record of 27-6 and were the 8-AA Conference Champions; and
27
28 WHEREAS, the Woodlawn High School Bears baseball team were led by Head
29 Coach Tommy Richardson; and
30
31 WHEREAS, Owen Stover and Jaxson Case were named All-State selections
32 and Cale Edmonds was named the Most Valuable Player for the championship
33 game; and
34
35 WHEREAS, while this team has enjoyed much success, they continue to put
36 in the hard work and dedication necessary for success on and off the field,

2 NOW THEREFORE,
3 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-FOURTH GENERAL
4 ASSEMBLY:

6 THAT the House of Representatives of the Ninety-Fourth General Assembly
7 recognize the Woodlawn High School Bears baseball team as the 2A Baseball
8 State Champions.

10 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption of this resolution, a copy be
11 provided to Head Coach Tommy Richardson by the Chief Clerk of the House of
12 Representatives.
