20 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

22 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code 12-17-102(b), concerning the State Drug
23 Crime Enforcement and Prosecution Grant Fund, is amended to read as follows:
24 (b) The fund shall consist of:
25 (1) Revenues generated under 12-17-106 and 27-50-409; and
26 (2) Any moneys authorized by the General Assembly.

28 SECTION 2. Arkansas Code 19-6-301, concerning special revenues
29 enumerated, is amended to add an additional subdivision to read as follows:
30 (274) Revenues generated under 12-17-106 and 27-50-409.

32 SECTION 3. Arkansas Code 19-6-817(b), concerning the State Drug
33 Crime Enforcement and Prosecution Grant Fund, is amended to read as follows:
34 (b) The fund shall consist of:
35 (1) Revenues generated under 12-17-106 and 27-50-409; and
36 (2) Any moneys authorized by the General Assembly.

2 SECTION 4. Arkansas Code Title 27, Chapter 50, Subchapter 4, is
3 amended to add an additional section to read as follows:
4 27-50-409. Additional fines and public service work for speeding.
5 (a)(1) In addition to any other sentence resulting from a plea of
6 guilty or nolo contendere or a finding of guilty to a traffic violation under
7 this chapter, the sentencing court shall assess an additional fine of:
8 (A) Two hundred fifty dollars ($250) for speeding in
9 excess of twenty-five miles per hour (25 m.p.h.) over the posted speed limit;
10 (B) Five hundred dollars ($500) for speeding in excess of
11 thirty-five miles per hour (35 m.p.h.) over the posted speed limit; or
12 (C) One thousand dollars ($1,000) for speeding in excess
13 of forty-five miles per hour (45 m.p.h.) over the posted speed limit.
14 (2) The fine collected under subsection (a) of this section
15 shall be deposited into the State Drug Crime Enforcement and Prosecution
16 Grant Fund to be used by the Department of Finance and Administration for the
17 purpose of funding state grant awards for multi-jurisdictional drug crime
18 task forces to investigate and prosecute drug crimes within the State of
19 Arkansas under 12-17-101 et seq.
20 (b) In addition to the additional fine assessed under subsection (a)
21 of this section, the court may order the performance of public service work
22 in the following amounts:
23 (1) Twenty (20) hours for speeding in excess of twenty-five
24 miles per hour (25 m.p.h.) over the posted speed limit;
25 (2) Thirty (30) hours for speeding in excess of thirty-five
26 miles per hour (35 m.p.h.) over the posted speed limit; or
27 (3) Forty (40) hours for speeding in excess of forty-five miles
28 per hour (45 m.p.h.) over the posted speed limit.
