18 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

20 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code Title 17, Chapter 25, Subchapter 3, is
21 amended to add an additional section to read as follows:
22 17-25-317. Lifetime certificate of license as a contractor.
23 (a)(1) Upon reaching the age of sixty-five (65), or any time
24 thereafter, any individual who has received a certificate of license as a
25 contractor from the Contractors Licensing Board for not less than twelve (12)
26 years may apply for a lifetime certificate of license as a contractor.
27 (2) The lifetime certificate of license as a contractor shall be
28 issued upon satisfactory proof of age and upon payment of a one-time fee of
29 sixty-five dollars ($65.00).
30 (3) The annual renewal fee for a lifetime license shall be
31 waived if all required information is provided on the renewal application.
32 (b) An individual issued a lifetime certificate of license as a
33 contractor shall maintain:
34 (1) All bonds as required by law or rule of the board for any
35 period in which any work as a contractor is performed for remunerative
36 purposes, whether as an employee or an independent contractor; and

1 (2) Workers' compensation coverage as required under the
2 Workers' Compensation Law, § 11-9-101 et seq., and § 17-25-514.
