8 TO EXTEND THE THIRD EXTRAORDINARY SESSION OF THE
9 NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY FOR A PERIOD NOT
10 EXCEEDING FIFTEEN (15) DAYS UNDER ARKANSAS
11 CONSTITUTION, ARTICLE 6, 19, FOR THE PURPOSE OF
12 CONSIDERING LEGISLATION TO MAKE AN APPROPRIATION FOR
13 THE TEACHER PAY SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAM FOR THE
14 DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION - DIVISION OF ELEMENTARY AND
15 SECONDARY EDUCATION FOR THE FISCAL YEAR ENDING JUNE
16 30, 2023; AND TO CREATE THE RAISING ARKANSAS'S
17 INVESTMENT IN SCHOOLS AND EDUCATORS (RAISE) ACT
18 CONCERNING SALARIES AND BONUSES FOR TEACHERS IN
19 PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICTS.

27 INVESTMENT IN SCHOOLS AND EDUCATORS

33 WHEREAS, Arkansas Constitution, Article 6, 19, provides that, after
34 the General Assembly has disposed of the business set forth in the Governor's
35 proclamation to convene an extraordinary session, the General Assembly may,
36 by a vote of two-thirds (2/3) of all members elected to both houses, remain

1 in session for a period not to exceed fifteen (15) days for the purpose of
2 transacting other legislative business; and

4 WHEREAS, the General Assembly has disposed of the matters set forth in
5 the Governor's proclamation calling the Third Extraordinary Session of the
6 Ninety-Third General Assembly,

8 NOW THEREFORE,
9 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
10 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

12 THAT the Third Extraordinary Session of the Ninety-Third General
13 Assembly has completed action deemed to be necessary with respect to the
14 business set forth in the Governor's proclamation to convene the Third
15 Extraordinary Session.

17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT the Third Extraordinary Session of the
18 Ninety-Third General Assembly is extended as provided in Arkansas
19 Constitution, Article 6, 19, and shall remain in session for a period not
20 exceeding fifteen (15) days for the purpose of considering legislation to
21 make an appropriation for the Teacher Pay Sustainability Program for the
22 Department of Education - Division of Elementary and Secondary Education for
23 the fiscal year ending June 30, 2023, and to create the Raising Arkansas's
24 Investment in Schools and Educators (RAISE) Act concerning salaries and
25 bonuses for teachers in public school districts.
