9 DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION REFORM AT THE COLLEGE OF

11 ARKANSAS AT FAYETTEVILLE FOR THEIR MANY ACHIEVEMENTS.

23 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE
24 STATE OF ARKANSAS:
25
26 WHEREAS, Dr. Patrick J. Wolf is a Distinguished Professor of Education
27 Policy and 21st Century Endowed Chair in School Choice in the Department of
28 Education Reform at the College of Education and Health Professions of the
29 University of Arkansas at Fayetteville; and
30
31 WHEREAS, the Department of Education Reform has had many
32 accomplishments over the past two (2) years that warrant recognition and
33 congratulation; and
34
35 WHEREAS, the Department of Education Reform has assisted in improving
36 the quality of education provided to Arkansas children through multiple

1 avenues, including conducting research, serving in key positions statewide,
2 creating solutions, and advising stakeholders such as Secretary of the
3 Department of Education Johnny Key, members of the General Assembly, and
4 educators; and
5
6 WHEREAS, the Department of Education Reform has developed and
7 implemented demonstration projects in public schools covering a wide array of
8 subjects, including projects related to arts integration, projects related to
9 a trauma-informed public charter schools, projects related to Holocaust
10 education programs, projects related to STEM curriculae, and a project
11 related college visits for students during their eighth-grade year; and
12
13 WHEREAS, the Department of Education Reform has enhanced a positive
14 perception of education quality in Arkansas, as evidenced by the Association
15 for Public Policy and Management awarding Dr. Robert Costrell the Steven D.
16 Gold Award and Dr. Wolf being the corecipient of the Best Paper Award by the
17 Association of Private Enterprise Education; and
18
19 WHEREAS, the Department of Education Reform has also done extensive
20 research into the priority areas of school choice, education policy, teacher
21 quality, leadership, and accountability and transparency as evidenced by
22 their publication of forty-nine (49) journal articles, sixteen (16) book
23 chapters, and fifty-one (51) working papers on those topics since the start
24 of 2020; and
25
26 WHEREAS, according to the database Academic Analytics, the Department
27 of Education Reform has the fourth overall scholarly productivity among
28 departments in the field of educational evaluation and research in the United
29 States; and
30
31 WHEREAS, the Department of Education Reform also ranks first in
32 academic awards, second in the production of scholarly articles, and third in
33 the publishing of books and book chapters according to the database Academic
34 Analytics,

36 NOW THEREFORE,

1 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
2 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

4 THAT the House of Representatives congratulate Dr. Patrick J. Wolf and
5 the Department of Education Reform on their many recent achievements.
6
7 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon its adoption, a copy of this resolution be
8 presented to Dr. Patrick J. Wolf by the Chief Clerk of the House of
9 Representatives.
