18          WHEREAS, the 2020-2021 Rogers High School Mounties baseball team
19   claimed the Class 6A state championship trophy after the Rogers Mounties
20   defeated the Har-Ber High School Wildcats with a 3-2 victory at Everett Field
21   at the Benton Athletic Complex on May 20, 2021; and
22
23          WHEREAS, the Rogers High School baseball program has been in existence
24   since 1990, and the 2020-2021 team led the program to the schools first
25   state championship; and
26
27          WHEREAS, the twenty-seven-member team was well-led by head coach Matt
28   Melson; and
29
30          WHEREAS, the Mounties were also supported by an excellent team of
31   assistant coaches, athletic trainers, and other staff members; and
32
33          WHEREAS, Rogers Public Schools Athletic Director Keith Kilgore, Rogers
34   High School Principal Dr. Lewis Villines, and their staff also provided
35   exceptional leadership in the operation of the athletic department to support
36   the success of the team,

 2   NOW THEREFORE,
 3   BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
 4   ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:
 5
 6        THAT the House of Representatives congratulate the Rogers High School
 7   Mounties baseball team on winning its first Class 6A State Championship.
 8
 9   BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon the adoption of this resolution, a copy
10   shall be presented to Athletic Director of Rogers Public Schools, Keith
11   Kilgore, and the Head Baseball Coach of Rogers High School, Matt Melson, by
12   the Chief Clerk of the House of Representatives.
