22 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

24 SECTION 1. DO NOT CODIFY. TEMPORARY LANGUAGE.
25 (a) It is the intent of the General Assembly to address the lack of
26 access to the courts and the suspension of the constitutional right to a jury
27 trial in civil cases that occurred and are occurring due to coronavirus 2019
28 (COVID-19) by extending the statute of limitations for any statutory civil
29 cause of action or a civil cause of action at common law for a period of
30 twenty-four (24) months from the date the Governor issued his Executive Order
31 20-03 establishing the coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) public health emergency.
32 (b) As such, a limitation of action for a statutory civil cause of
33 action or a civil cause of action at common law that expired after March 11,
34 2020, but before March 11, 2022, or that has not yet expired but is set to
35 expire before March 11, 2022, is extended for twenty-four (24) months.
