25 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

27 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code 27-16-802(a)(2)(A), concerning the issuance
28 of a driver's instruction permit, is amended to read as follows:
29 (2)(A) After the applicant has successfully passed the written
30 examination, the division may, in its discretion, issue to the applicant an
31 instruction permit which shall entitle entitles the applicant while having
32 the permit in his or her immediate possession to drive a motor vehicle upon
33 the public highways for a period of twelve (12) twenty-four (24) months when
34 accompanied by a licensed driver who is at least twenty-one (21) years of age
35 and who is occupying a seat beside the driver, except in the event that the
36 permittee is operating a motorcycle. APPROVED: 4/26/21
