17 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

19 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code 7-6-228(c), concerning campaign signs and
20 materials, is amended to read as follows:
21 (c)(1)(A) Campaign signs, campaign literature, and other printed
22 campaign materials under this section shall clearly contain the words Paid
23 for by followed by the name of the candidate, committee, or person who paid
24 for the campaign sign, campaign literature, or other printed campaign
25 materials.
26 (B) The candidate printing the campaign sign, campaign
27 literature, or other printed campaign materials shall be responsible for
28 including the language required by subdivision (c)(1)(A) of this section.
29 (2) Subdivision (c)(1)(A) of this section applies only to
30 campaign signs, campaign literature, and other printed campaign materials
31 created by or sponsored by a political candidate, the campaign of a political
32 candidate, a political action committee, or an independent expenditure
33 committee.
