8 TO RECOGNIZE THE ARKANSAS FUND FOR ITS CHARITABLE
9 CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE ARKANSAS SMALL BUSINESS

16 SMALL BUSINESS COMMUNITY.

18 WHEREAS, numerous Arkansas small businesses are fighting for survival
19 due to the impacts of the coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and the
20 associated restrictions; and
21
22 WHEREAS, small businesses are the lifeblood of the Arkansas economy and
23 have been disproportionately affected by the ongoing pandemic and
24 restrictions; and
25
26 WHEREAS, The Arkansas Fund is a nonprofit small business relief fund
27 dedicated to providing immediate economic relief to Arkansas small businesses
28 impacted by the coronavirus 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic; and
29
30 WHEREAS, in less than three (3) weeks, The Arkansas Fund raised over
31 one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) and made eighteen (18) distributions
32 to struggling small businesses in sixteen (16) towns across the state; and
33
34 WHEREAS, The Arkansas Fund is supporting small businesses that in the
35 face of extraordinary financial difficulties are keeping their doors open for
36 their customers and their employees on the payroll,

2 NOW THEREFORE,
3 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE
4 STATE OF ARKANSAS:

6 THAT the Senate recognize and commend the extraordinary work done by
7 The Arkansas Fund and the generosity of its donors for the benefit of small
8 businesses across the State of Arkansas.
9
10 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED THAT upon adoption of this resolution, an appropriate
11 copy shall be provided to Mr. Jake Bequette by the Secretary of the Senate.
