23 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

25 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code 6-82-1801(1), concerning the definition of
26 "approved institution of higher education" under the Arkansas Future Grant
27 Program, is amended to read as follows:
28 (1) Approved institution of higher education means an
29 institution of higher education approved by the Division of Higher Education
30 to participate in the Arkansas Future Grant Program and that is:
31 (A) A state-supported two-year or four-year college or
32 university;
33 (B) A state-supported technical institute; or
34 (C) An approved state-supported school of nursing; or
35 (D) A private, nonprofit two-year or four-year college or
36 university;

2 SECTION 2. Arkansas Code 6-82-1803(a)(2), concerning the amount of
3 an Arkansas Future Grant, is amended to read as follows:
4 (2) If the approved institution of higher education in which the
5 student is enrolled is a state-supported four-year institution of higher
6 education or a private, nonprofit four-year institution of higher education,
7 the total amount of tuition, fees, and other charges under subdivision (a)(1)
8 of this section shall be calculated as the average cost of tuition, fees, and
9 other charges at approved institutions of higher education that are state-
10 supported two-year institutions of higher education or private, nonprofit
11 two-year institutions of higher education.
