8 HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION
9 TO PROVIDE FOR RECESS OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
10 ASSEMBLY AT THE CLOSE OF BUSINESS ON APRIL 9, 2021;
11 TO PROVIDE FOR AN EXTENSION OF THE REGULAR SESSION OF
12 THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL ASSEMBLY UNTIL 12:00 NOON,
13 MAY 3, 2021, FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONSIDERING VETOES,
14 CORRECTING ERRORS OR OVERSIGHTS COMPLETING ITS WORK
15 ON PROPOSED CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENTS, AND
16 CONSIDERING THE NEED FOR FURTHER EXTENSION OF THE
17 REGULAR SESSION OR TO ADJOURN THE NINETY-THIRD
18 GENERAL ASSEMBLY AT ANY TIME BEFORE THAT DATE IF THEY
19 DETERMINE THAT THERE IS NO NEED TO RECONVENE; TO
20 PROVIDE THAT IF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY IS NOT
21 RECONVENED OR ADJOURNED BEFORE 12:00 NOON, MAY 3,
22 2021, THE REGULAR SESSION OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL
23 ASSEMBLY IS ADJOURNED SINE DIE ON THAT DATE; AND TO
24 PROVIDE FOR DATE EXTENSIONS IN THE EVENT OF EXTENDED
25 RECESSES RELATED TO THE COVID-19 PUBLIC HEALTH
26 EMERGENCY.

36 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE NINETY-THIRD GENERAL

1 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS, THE SENATE CONCURRING THEREIN:

3 (a) That the Regular Session of the Ninety-Third General Assembly of
4 the State of Arkansas is extended until 12:00 noon, May 3, 2021;
5 (b) That under Arkansas Constitution, Article 6, 15, prior to
6 adjournment of the General Assembly, the Governor is afforded five (5) days
7 after receipt of a bill to sign a bill or veto a bill, therefore from
8 April 9, 2021, to May 3, 2021, the House of Representatives and the Senate
9 shall be open so the office of the Chief Clerk of the House of
10 Representatives and the office of the Secretary of the Senate may receive
11 communications, vetoes of bills by the Governor, and notification of errors
12 and oversights;
13 (c) That the Regular Session of the Ninety-Third General Assembly of
14 the State of Arkansas shall enter into recess simultaneously at the close of
15 business in each chamber on April 9, 2021, or at such earlier time as may be
16 agreed upon by the House of Representatives and the Senate;
17 (d) That the Speaker of the House of Representatives and the President
18 Pro Tempore of the Senate may, by joint proclamation:
19 (1) Reconvene the General Assembly at any time before 12:00
20 noon, May 3, 2021, for the purpose of:
21 (A) Considering vetoes;
22 (B) Correcting errors and oversights;
23 (C) Completing its work on proposed constitutional
24 amendments; and
25 (D) Considering the need for further extension of the
26 Regular Session of the Ninety-Third General Assembly; or
27 (2) Adjourn the Regular Session of the Ninety-Third General
28 Assembly at any time before 12:00 noon, May 3, 2021, if they determine it is
29 not necessary to reconvene;
30 (e) That if the General Assembly is not reconvened or adjourned before
31 12:00 noon, May 3, 2021, the Regular Session of the Ninety-Third General
32 Assembly is adjourned sine die on that date; and
33 (f) That if the General Assembly during the course of the regular
34 session takes an extended recess or recesses for reasons related to the
35 COVID-19 public health emergency, the dates designated herein shall be
36 extended by a number of days equal to the length of the extended recess or
