26 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

28 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code 19-6-301(265), concerning special revenues
29 enumerated, is amended to read as follows:
30 (265) Additional registration fees fee for electric vehicles and
31 hybrid vehicles under 27-14-614;

33 SECTION 2. Arkansas Code 19-6-405(9), concerning the State Highway
34 and Transportation Department Fund, is amended to read as follows:
35 (9) The special revenues specified in 27-14-614, which consist
36 of the additional registration fees fee on electric vehicles and hybrid

3 SECTION 3. Arkansas Code 27-14-614 is amended to read as follows:
4 27-14-614. Additional fee for electric vehicles and hybrid vehicles
5 Definitions Definition.
6 (a) As used in this section:,
7 (1) Electric electric vehicle means a vehicle that:
8 (A)(1) Is solely propelled by an one (1) or more electric
9 motor motors powered by a battery or other electrical device incorporated
10 into the vehicle; and
11 (B)(2) Is not propelled by an internal combustion engine;
12 and
13 (2) Hybrid vehicle means a vehicle that draws propulsion
14 energy from both an internal combustion engine and an energy storage device.
15 (b) In addition to the other fees required to be paid to register a
16 vehicle under this subchapter, there is levied an annual fee of:
17 (1) Two two hundred dollars ($200) for each electric vehicle
18 registered; and
19 (2) One hundred dollars ($100) for each hybrid vehicle
20 registered.
21 (c) The revenues collected under this section are special revenues and
22 shall be distributed to the State Highway and Transportation Department Fund.
