17 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

19 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code 17-29-302(b)(1)(B)(iv)(b), concerning the
20 qualifications for a funeral director, is amended to read as follows:
21 (b) A case report under subdivision
22 (b)(1)(B)(iv)(a) of this section shall be signed by the apprentice and the
23 licensed funeral director under whose supervision the work was perfomed
24 performed.

26 SECTION 2. Arkansas Code 17-29-302(c), concerning continuing
27 education for a funeral director, is amended to read as follows:
28 (c)(1) The board shall require applicants for licensure as funeral
29 directors to successfully complete up to twenty (20) hours of classroom
30 instruction in funeral service practices and ethics, laws, and rules
31 affecting funeral service.
32 (2) As used in subdivision (c)(1) of this section, "classroom
33 instruction" means instruction that is delivered:
34 (A) On-site or that requires the attendee to be at the
35 same physical location as the instructor; or
36 (B) By any virtual method through remote communication,

1 including audio-only or audio-and-video instruction that is delivered
2 digitally.
3 (3) Only courses of instruction approved by the board shall
4 satisfy the requirement under subdivision (c)(1) of this section.

6 SECTION 3. Arkansas Code 17-29-313(a)(2)(A)(ii), concerning the
7 notice required for construction of a crematorium, is amended to read as
8 follows:
9 (ii) The notice shall:
10 (a)(1) Be published on the Sunday and
11 Wednesday no more than fifteen (15) days nor less than seven (7) days before
12 submitting an application to the board.
13 (2) Publication as described in
14 subdivision (a)(2)(A)(ii)(a)(1) of this section is sufficient if the notice
15 is published in the newspaper's print edition or digital edition, or both;
16 and
17 (b) Invite members of the public to submit
18 written protest to the construction of the proposed crematorium to the board
19 at the address designated by the board; and
