27 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

29 SECTION 1. Arkansas Code 25-28-101(b), concerning the creation of
30 the Assessment Coordination Division and the appointment of the Director of
31 the Assessment Coordination Division and other personnel, is amended to read
32 as follows:
33 (b)(1) The executive head of the Assessment Coordination Division
34 shall be is the Director of the Assessment Coordination Division.
35 (2) The director shall be appointed by the Governor, subject to
36 confirmation by the Senate, and shall serve at the pleasure of the Governor.

1 (3) The director shall report to the Secretary of the Department
2 of Finance and Administration and shall report to the secretary.

4 SECTION 2. Arkansas Code 25-28-107 is amended to read as follows:
5 25-28-107. Requirements of Director of the Assessment Coordination
6 Division.
7 (a) The Director of the Assessment Coordination Division shall meet
8 the qualifications required for certification or licensure as a Level 4
9 Appraiser in Arkansas, provided that the formal course work was or is
10 satisfactorily completed in another state.
11 (b) At the time of appointing the director, the Governor Secretary of
12 the Department of Finance and Administration shall include in the appointment
13 document a statement that the appointee meets the qualifications prescribed
14 by law.
