20 BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ARKANSAS:

22 SECTION 1. DO NOT CODIFY. Legislative findings and intent.
23 The General Assembly finds that:
24 (1) The building previously known as "Hardison Hall", located
25 within Petit Jean State Park was demolished by the State Parks, Recreation,
26 and Travel Commission and a new visitors center was erected in its place;
27 (2) Dr. T.W. Hardison led the effort to establish Petit Jean
28 State Park as Arkansas's first state park; and
29 (3) The original building that was demolished was named for the
30 founder of the Arkansas state parks system, Dr. T.W. Hardison, so the new
31 building should still honor his legacy.

33 SECTION 2. DO NOT CODIFY. Visitors' center in Petit Jean State Park
34 named for Dr. T.W. Hardison.
35 (a) The visitors center in Petit Jean State Park is named the
36 "Hardison Visitor Center", and the name shall only be changed by an act of

1 the General Assembly.
2 (b) The Building Authority Division of the Department of
3 Transformation and Shared Services and the State Parks, Recreation, and
4 Travel Commission may make any improvements, arrangements, or contracts or
5 authorize any construction needed to display the name "Hardison Visitor
6 Center" on or near the visitors center in Petit Jean State Park in
7 furtherance of this act.
