This bill relates to Montgomery County and allows a judge of the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit to increase the salary of his or her judicial assistant, with the approval of the presiding judge, using local funds. Each judicial assistant in the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit may receive a supplemental salary from the general fund of the county. The supplemental salary will be established by each judge, with the approval of the presiding judge, and will be paid in equal installments at the same times and in the same manner that salaries of county employees are paid. The governing body of the county may pay the supplemental salary provided in this section to each judicial assistant out of the funds of the county or any other funds as may be available for this purpose. The salary provided in this section is in lieu of any other supplemental salary paid by the county and represents the total supplemental salary to be provided by the county for judicial assistants. This act will become effective on the first day of the third month following its passage and approval by the Governor, or its otherwise becoming law.
