This bill requires law enforcement agencies in Alabama to collect fingerprints and DNA from any illegal alien in their custody. The agency may not release the illegal alien until they have collected a full set of fingerprints and a known DNA reference sample from the individual. The collected fingerprints are to be submitted to the Alabama State Law Enforcement Agency for cataloging, and the known DNA reference sample is to be submitted to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences for analysis and entry into appropriate databases. The bill becomes effective immediately upon passage and approval by the Governor or its otherwise becoming law.
