The Students with Unique Needs (SUN) Education Scholarship Account Act is a bill that establishes an education scholarship account program in Alabama. Under this program, parents of eligible students can receive funds to pay for qualifying educational expenses. Eligible students include children of members of the Armed Forces, students with disabilities, foster children, and homeless students. Participating parents must agree to certain requirements, such as providing education in certain subjects and using the funds for qualifying expenses. The bill also includes provisions for auditing education scholarship accounts and establishing an anonymous fraud reporting service and hotline.

The bill also requires participating schools and education service providers to comply with health and safety laws, administer standardized tests, and comply with nondiscrimination policies and child protection laws. Participating schools must provide receipts for qualifying expenses and demonstrate financial viability. Parents are required to ensure that their eligible student takes a nationally standardized test and inform the department of graduation. The bill does not alter the application of the Alabama High School Athletic Association's constitution and bylaws to member schools. The bill will become effective on the first day of the third month following its passage and approval by the Governor.
