4 HJR___ COMMENDING COMMAND SERGEANT MAJOR JAMES W. FRYE FOR
5 HIS DEDICATED SERVICE TO THE MILITARY POLICE CORPS REGIMENT
6 AND THE UNITED STATES ARMY.

8 WHEREAS, it is a privilege to highly commend and
9 honor Command Sergeant Major (CSM) James W. Frye of Jasper,
10 Alabama, for his many years of dedicated service to the
11 Military Police Corps Regiment and the United States Army;
12 and
13 WHEREAS, on October 18, 2022, CSM Frye was honored
14 for his service to the Military Police Corps Regiment by
15 being inducted as a Gold Recipient of the Order of the
16 Marechaussee; he is one of only 17 people to receive the
17 Order of the Marechaussee in Gold Award since its
18 establishment by the Military Police Regimental Association
19 (MPRA) in 2000; the MPRA website states that the prestigious
20 award recognizes "exceptional dedication, competence, and
21 contribution to the Military Police Corps Regiment over an
22 extended period of time"; the website also states that
23 nominees must have performed service to the Regiment beyond
24 25 years, held key positions of strategic significance,
25 served admirably, and made a considerable and lasting impact

26 on the Regiment, both in and outside of military service;
27 and
28 WHEREAS, CSM Frye served in the United States Army
29 from 1955 to 1984; was appointed as the Provost Marshal of
30 the Mannheim Military Community, the first non-commissioned
31 officer to hold such a position, according to the MPRA
32 website, in 1979; subsequently became the Military Police
33 School Sergeant Major, where he was instrumental in
34 upgrading the professionalism and image of the Military
35 Police Non-commissioned Officer; was appointed as the first
36 Regimental Sergeant Major in September 1982; retired as the
37 first Regimental Sergeant Major of the United States Army
38 Military Police Regiment; and became the first
39 non-commissioned officer elected to the Military Police Hall
40 of Fame in 1992; and
41 WHEREAS, a man of steadfast selflessness, bravery,
42 and commitment, CSM Frye is an incredible leader and
43 inspiration in the lives of many; now therefore,
44 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
45 HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That Command Sergeant Major James
46 W. Frye is highly commended and honored for his many years
47 of dedicated service to the Military Police Corps Regiment
48 and the United States Army, and this resolution hereby
49 serves as a tribute to him with warmest gratitude,
50 admiration, and regard.
