8 COMMENDING DR. DOROTHY DAVIDSON FOR PROFESSIONAL
9 ACHIEVEMENTS.

11 WHEREAS, with great pride and special pleasure, we
12 extend highest commendations and honor to Dr. Dorothy Davidson
13 for her professional achievements; and
14 WHEREAS, a native of Northern Virginia, Dr. Davidson
15 received her undergraduate degree in Mathematics in 1956; her
16 esteemed career began as a Research Mathematician with the
17 United States Air Force Air Staff at the Pentagon during which
18 time she was selected for the one-year Management Intern
19 Program; while in the program, she continued studies in
20 Business and Mathematics; in 1962, Dr. Davidson joined the
21 research staff at the United States Patent Office as a
22 Research Mathematician; and
23 WHEREAS, in 1965, Dr. Davidson joined private
24 industry working on Department of Defense programs designing
25 Command and Control, Information Retrieval systems; during the
26 1970's, she designed systems for military use within the North
27 Atlantic Treaty Organization; Dr. Davidson interfaced with

1 NATO countries' private industrial firms and research
2 institutes on the development of Command and Control and
3 weapon systems for respective countries; and
4 WHEREAS, in 1996, along with her husband Dr. Julian
5 Davidson, Dr. Dorothy Davidson founded Davidson Technologies,
6 Incorporated; Dr. Dorothy Davidson took over leadership after
7 her husband's passing in 2013; Davidson Technologies,
8 Incorporated is a premier technology and engineering services
9 company located in Huntsville, Alabama, offering innovative
10 engineering, technical, and management solutions for our
11 Nation's defense, aerospace, and commercial sectors; and
12 WHEREAS, as an inspiration, a leader, and a friend
13 to many, Dr. Dorothy Davidson is very deserving of this
14 special recognition; now therefore,
15 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF
16 THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That Dr. Dorothy Davidson is
17 highly commended, and we hereby dedicate this resolution to
18 her with utmost appreciation and admiration; this recognition
19 is offered in her honor posthumously.
