5 COMMENDING REPRESENTATIVE JOE LOVVORN ON HIS 25
6 YEARS OF SERVICE AND RETIREMENT WITH THE AUBURN FIRE
7 DEPARTMENT.

9 WHEREAS, Joe Lovvorn was born in Graham, Alabama, in
10 Randolph County to Terry and Sherry Lovvorn; he has a sister,
11 Susan Rice; and
12 WHEREAS, Joe grew up on the family farm, fixing
13 fences, rustling cattle, digging wells, and taking care of his
14 pet corn snake; and
15 WHEREAS, all this work on the family farm made Joe
16 long for the big city and bright lights, so he went south on
17 Highway 431 to Auburn, Alabama; and
18 WHEREAS, in Auburn he enrolled at Auburn University
19 in the School of Agriculture, where he studied agriculture to
20 which his father pointed out that he did not have to go to
21 Auburn for that; and
22 WHEREAS, during his time in Auburn, he met the
23 lovely Jenifer, who became his wife; together with Jenifer
24 they have raised their two sons, Landon and Jackson, to be the

1 two most polite, well-mannered, caring, smart, athletic, and
2 thoughtful children in the tri-county area; and
3 WHEREAS, while in Auburn he purchased and lived in
4 one of the most infamous homes in Auburn history, bringing a
5 bright light and new history to a needed area; and
6 WHEREAS, while in Auburn he joined the Auburn Fire
7 Department and has served admirably for 24 years and will
8 retire this year as a 25-year veteran; and
9 WHEREAS, during his time with the Auburn Fire
10 Department he has served as a student firefighter, an
11 apparatus operator, a team leader, an administrative technical
12 writing and historical analyst specialist, a Battalion Chief,
13 and all-around hinny kicker; and
14 WHEREAS, during this time he regularly attended
15 Auburn football games as a student and professional consuming
16 copious amounts of hotdogs and pump canister nachos; and
17 WHEREAS, he is an entrepreneur and has started
18 several businesses in Lee County serving the needs of the
19 area; and
20 WHEREAS, he also saw a need to continue his public
21 service and entered the world of politics and in 2016 ran for
22 and was elected to the Alabama House of Representatives, where
23 he quickly rose in the ranks to be one of the 105 most
24 influential members of the body; now therefore,

1 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, BOTH
2 HOUSES THEREOF CONCURRING, That Representative Joe Lovvorn is
3 hereby commended on his pending retirement from the Auburn
4 Fire Department and for his commitment to capitalism, private
5 property rights, family, and public service by this body and
6 is afforded all the rights, privileges, and honors that come
7 with this most honored citation.
