8 COMMENDING MARION COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS VARSITY
9 BASKETBALL COACH SCOTT VEAL FOR BEING NAMED ALABAMA HIGH
10 SCHOOL ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION 2021 CLASS 1A COACH OF THE YEAR.

12 WHEREAS, highest commendations are herein proudly
13 conveyed to Marion County High School Girls Varsity Basketball
14 Coach Scott Veal for being named Alabama High School Athletic
15 Association 2021 Class 1A Coach of the Year; and
16 WHEREAS, under Coach Veal's leadership, his teams
17 have won five Marion County Championships, six North Alabama
18 Conference Championships, eight trips to the regionals, seven
19 trips to the Final Four, two State Runners-Up, and one State
20 Championship; during his 18-year career of coaching varsity
21 boys and girls basketball, his teams have a total of 411 wins
22 and 215 losses; and
23 WHEREAS, Coach Veal is also a two-time Times Daily
24 Coach of the Year, a two-time Alabama High School Athletic
25 Association Coach of the Year, and was the Athletic Director
26 of Phillips High School; and

1 WHEREAS, an outstanding coach, Coach Veal's
2 commitment to excellence and unwavering diligence continue to
3 inspire his students; now therefore,
4 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF
5 THE LEGISLATURE OF ALABAMA, That Marion County High School
6 Girls Varsity Basketball Coach Scott Veal is highly commended
7 for being named Alabama High School Athletic Association 2021
8 Class 1A Coach of the Year, and we hereby dedicate this
9 resolution to him with utmost admiration, along with sincere
10 best wishes for continued success in all future endeavors.
